We Are All Watchers of the Sky
Becoming a "Watcher of the Sky." This is a goal that anyone can achieve, but what does it mean? What does it mean to be a "Watcher of the Sky?"
To me, it means that one should take every opportunity given to them to learn, to grow, and to prosper. We should pass down our knowledge to the next generation to learn from our mistakes. However, the more important question to ask is not what it means, but how one becomes a "Watcher of the Sky."
Through dedication, learning from mistakes, and being open to the future, one can understand this concept and make a difference in the world.
Discovering truth is the driving force that compels people to become a "Watcher of the Sky." Without truth and reason, no action taken by people is either necessary or justified. I hope to search for truth in my life. I want to grow in my knowledge and use history as a resource of power. All the keys to unlocking a world of peace are found in the mistakes, war, corruption and violence of the past. We must learn from mistakes in order to not repeat them. I am dedicated to not repeating these mistakes and work towards a brighter future. As Ben Ferencz states, "You can have the world. It's kind of cracked, but that's the condition it's in. We'll have to patch it up a bit to make it work a little better than it is now." We have to patch it up. We all need to come together to make a world a better place. We can achieve this by truly becoming Watchers of the Sky.
We are all watchers of the sky and if we come together then nothing is impossible. I will become a watcher of the sky by learning from the past and using that information to teach others how to create a better future. Even if I can't contact the whole world, I can at least contact those around me. Hopefully they will contact another person, and another, and another, until the whole world hears the same message that has been around since the beginning of time: we are all human. We all need to work together in order to patch up the world. We need to leave our wisdom behind for others and that is exactly what I plan to do. I hope to achieve what Tycho Brahe achieved: to work sufficiently enough to save someone at some time in the future. The more we work for others, the more the world will become united until we are all one. Why wait? Even though not every person realizes it, we are all already watchers of the sky.
